This colorful mosaic serving tray is easy to make and will brighten up your summer parties. If you love putting together zigsaw puzzles you'll love creating mosaics.
Start with a plain wooden tray.
Paint the tray with 2 coats of acrylic paint.
Glue the tile on to the tray in a random pattern. Paint the inside edge of the tray with sealer to protect it from grout.
Next, mix up your grout and scoup a large dollop on the tray.
Using a paint scrapper, push the grout into the tile.
Let the grout sit a few minutes, then use a damp sponge to wipe off the excess grout.
Continue wiping off the grout with a damp sponge. Don't let it dry on the tile.
Stamp decorative stars on the side of the tray. You can use a foam or rubber star stamp and acrylic paint.
When the tray is completly dry add 2-3 coats of protective sealer.
