Custom Made Decorative Lettering Stencils

Custom made decorative lettering stencils are a fun way to create a beautiful, relaxing environment for every room in your home. You can transform dull, boring walls into a work of art with a custom made lettering stencil. Favorite saying, quotes or inspirational messages are a popular choice. Custom stencils come in a range of different fonts and sizes so the ideas are endless.

How to apply a custom made lettering stencil
Spray your stencil down with low tack stencil adhesive. This will secure your stencil to the wall. Note: I haven't had any problems with stencil adhesive damaging my walls.
If your using a one time use stencil carefully pull the backing from the paper. If you have a long stencil it's a good idea to get help because the stencil can roll up and stick to its self.
 Make sure that your stencil is level before you start to paint. I like to let my stencils sit on the wall a few minutes, take a few steps back, and check from different angles just to make sure that the stencil looks like it's in the right place before I paint.
Start out with 3 small dabs of paint on a paper plate. Dip your stencil brush into the paint then off load it on to the paper plate. I like to blend my paints together to create a contrasting shade. This works as long as you get the excess paint off your brush. Holding your stencil brush straight and stenciling with a nearly dry brush will ensure that you get crisp clean edges. Slowly pull your stencil from the wall. Reusable stencils are quite sturdy but they can be ripped if your not careful. To clean, soak your stencil in warm soapy water.

This stencil was made by Stencil Ease. It's a custom made reusable stencil in a 3" Whimsical Font. I stenciled the design with Basics artist acrylic paint. The stencil turned out gorgeous (my picture doesn't do it justice). It really adds a decorative touch to my kitchen.
